I honestly believe that the bada start of the xbox was only partly don matric. I believe gamers just saw first hand at the last 4 years of the 360 how lackluster it was and the ps3 still pumping game after game and ending with the last of us. While both started pretty slow, the ps4 picked up its game output and gamers knew it would happen so they jump on the ps4, and knew the xbox would just stop making games.
It takes genuine talent to see greatness in yourself despite your absence of genuine talent.
