Microsoft brings these kinds of articles on themselves. They really have no idea how to handle the consumer market. They're so infuriatingly inconsistent with hardware and software support that it's really hard to defend some of what they do.
I bought an XB1 in 2016 and don't regret it, but I haven't been turning it on much. I buy my multiplats on it just as an excuse to use it now.
