One thing I'm wondering about Sea Of Thieves, independent of the quality of the core game, is how it will handle, how much it will incorporate the absolute worst aspects of the "games as a service", "paid freemium'' *puke* dlc, microtransaction, loot-box model that has been shat out onto the industry by games like Destiny 1 & 2, Star Wars: Battlefront 1 & 2, Need For Speed, Call Of Duty, the forthcoming UFC 3, and loath as I am to even have to address it, GTA:Online. The unfurling of the Sea Of Thieves blueprint is one of my most anticipated gaming events of 2018. My gut tells me that it will push things to some unsavory degree, but won't be as bad as the worst offenders in recent history, if for no other reason than it's getting a bit difficult to get away with it, even with massive ip's that have somewhat indoctrinated fan bases.
