those good games could have been on their next system too with a better price and image.if consumer doesn't show any interest in your hardware then just forget it and start over again.u may loose some customer but if ur next system is interesting and affordable they will eventually buy it.what Sony did with the ps3 may be considered consumer friendly but that was not a financial friendly act.but now they learned their lesson pretty well looking at their handheld system.vita doesn't work so they just abandoned it and moved on.they need to understand that not all system they  make are not going to be successful and they learned that the hard way with ps3 and acted wisely with the vita. all the PlayStation system sold well except for vita.

Ps1,ps2, and ps4 did good because of good library not because of some gimmicks like motion control or dvd player.ps3 could have been the best selling console last gen but due to that unnecessary bluray player it never reached its sale potential like a PlayStation.it was a disaster.sony should have dropped that console after a year or two and moved to a new gen.Nintendo did that with wiiu and its working fine for them.but on the bright side ps4 selling good without any gimmicks and holding well against the competition.

That unabandoned failure managed to sell 90M and get some very good games.
