Oh yeah, that is why in the last couple years Microsoft released two separate consoles. Also, Microsoft had a great year regarding console exclusives imo. PUBG already outsold every ps4 exclusive this year in less than a month. POE, Halo wars 2, forza 7 and cup head were some of my favorite games. Only games I like from sony this year was Nioh and Horizon zero dawn somewhat. However, both those games can be beaten within a week or two with little to no replay value.
Microsoft is making billions off of consoles. The pro which Sony said was successful was already outsold by the xbox one x despite being a hundred dollars more expensive. |
They had to release a 2nd console this gen because Xbox One is only selling about 100,000 units world-wide each week. While the PS4/Pro is selling close to 300,000 each week. So Microsoft had to try something to shake up that sales disparity.
Is this the same PUBG that Digital Foundry said "Across one 22 minute game, we noted an average frame-rate of 25.6fps on the base console, rising to 27.6fps on its more powerful 4K-orientated counterpart"?? So the X1X can't even hit 30fps with it?!?!? Not sure you want to use that game as a glowing endorsement for Xbox One X. Also PUBG is a timed exclusive, so we'll have to wait and see how it sells when it is released on PS4/Pro. Hopefully they'll have the frame rate issue fixed by then.
Now, If you want to talk proper exclusives Forza 7 sold 400,000 units, while Gran Turismo has sold 1.3 million units and has been out 2 weeks less than Forza!
Big multi-platform titles sell better on PS4. For example Call of Duty WWII on PS4 sold 3.5 million and on X1 1.6 million in its first week. FIFA 16, one of the biggest franchises, sold 7 million on PS4 and 1.6 million on X1 after 6 weeks in the charts. Grand Theft Auto V has sold 16.1 million on PS4 and 7.1 on X1. Have you noticed the trend yet? PS4 titles, as a minimum, sell 2 times better than X1 titles!!
I'd love to see where you got the numbers of the X1X outselling Pro. But one thing is for sure PS4/Pro outsold X1/X worldwide over the holiday period, starting as far back as Black Friday.
