Let's not pretend to not know what's up. If this was a Playstation game, you would not be in this thread. Besides, it's not being offended, it's a sarcastic response to a stupid stance to have (even with your elaborated explanation which doesn't even make sense). Even if you don't trust certain reviewers, how does that relate to the topic at hand, which is BotW dominating across the overwhelming majority of publications/reviewers? Why was this "friendly reminder" necessary?

Friendly reminder to myself. I mean I was hurting the most that BOTW didn't turn out as I hoped and I did get hyped up a bit more after the reviews were so positive, only to be crushed even more with disappointment. Same happened with SMO. So yeah, if anyone needs a friendly reminder to not get hyped up more by reviews it's me.

And I wouldn't be so sure about PS4 games. Next year we're gonna have GoW and TLOU2. Two games I'm very much looking forward to and definitely gonna buy. I'm already preparing myself for disappointment with GoW but I still have very high hopes for TLOU2. Let's see how this turns out and if I'm gonna be disappointed yet again.

Also, what doesn't make sense about picking a small number of reviewers you trust instead of blankly believing in aggregated scores of reviewers you don't even know?

Because there is something as general consensus. And with this overwhelming majority across media, general consensus tells us that BotW is the undisputed GotY of 2017. Because of that, I don't care about the very few contrarian opinions since A: the feelings about this game are generally positive instead on mixed and B: the small number of reviewers that I absolutely trust have been overwhelmingly positive as well.
