I remember the discussion at the time but don't remember KZ2 ending up better in the end I suppose it did I probably didn't realise it. Amazingly well programmed games though. One of the few developers that really showed what the ps3 was capable of and often their games looked a console generation ahead of what many multi-format ps3 games were achieving, that were shoddy ports from 360 sometimes making no use of the cell processors at all for their own code, so relying only on the 2 threads of the main PPC element. Guerilla seemed to make extensive use of the cell co-processors right at the beginning.
