Alongside fresh, you can buy frozen fruits... they are processed fresh and you can thaw them when you want to make a smoothie. (I had a smoothie phase, I prefer solid) As for the vegetables, I would prefer to sautee them in olive oil... you need fats to process nutrients and olive oil is a good heavy fat medically speaking.
And you don't need to overdo the amount of protein recommended on the side of the container. Also, throw a little acai juice in there for a real boost.
