Square Enix is adding a first person mode on the PC, but it does not look like a fun way to play the game.
I have not played the game yet, as I don't own a console (aside from the Switch), but it looks to be a third person action title.
I would imagine it would be most comfortable to leave the camera in a third person perspective for VR.
