The mangaka improved tremendously over the course of the series, especially with proportions and consistency.  Also, now that the manga is in a sprint toward the finish line, there seem to be more transition and movement panels with less detail.  Before, I think there were more carefully drawn impact panels and still images.

This is from the chapter I just read--

I think she likes doing covers and inserts the most.  She said she enjoys doing them herself to relieve the monotony of doing manga pages.

Now that looks more familiar, though it looks like the manga is inked now, rather than with the pencil look. That last panel with those buildings just look crazy detailed.
