Part two of the news:
Iconoclasts release date announced in stunning animated trailer
http://www.pcgamer.com/iconoclasts-release-date-announced-in-stunning-animated-trailer/
Iconoclasts was already an ambitious project when we first played it in March 2013. A playable demo was first released in 2012, and it came to Steam Greenlight in July 2015—a program that doesn't even exist anymore. Solo developer Joakim 'Konjak' Sandberg has been working on the Metroidvania platformer ever since, and today, finally, Iconoclasts has a firm release date: January 23, 2018.
Hearthstone: Kobolds & Catacombs is live in North America and Europe
http://www.pcgamer.com/hearthstone-kobolds-catacombs-is-live-in-north-america-and-europe/
The Hearthstone expansion Kobolds & Catacombs was slated to go live later today in North America, and not until tomorrow in Europe. Here's an early holiday surprise, then—Blizzard says it's live in both regions now.
Overwatch's Winter Wonderland event returns December 12
http://www.pcgamer.com/overwatchs-winter-wonderland-event-returns-december-12/
Overwatch's Winter Wonderland seasonal event returns December 12, bringing with it old and new holiday-themed character skins as well as a new Brawl, Mei's Yeti Hunt.
Star Wars Battlefront 2's premium currency might not return
http://www.pcgamer.com/star-wars-battlefront-2s-premium-currency-might-not-return/
Electronic Arts pulled the plug on microtransactions in Star Wars Battlefront 2 shortly before its release, but the reprieve was only temporary: DICE general manager Oskar Gabrielson said that "the ability to purchase crystals in-game will become available at a later date," after EA had made the system a little more palatable for players. Now, however, it appears that they might actually be gone for good.
Destiny 2's broken Prometheus Lens rifle won't be fixed until next week
http://www.pcgamer.com/destiny-2s-broken-prometheus-lens-rifle-wont-be-fixed-until-next-week/
The Prometheus Lens exotic trace rifle that came to Destiny 2 in the Curse of Osiris expansion isn't just overpowered, it's straight-up broken. Its ability to insta-fry enemies is great as long as you're on the right end of it, but if you're not, it's just a wildly unfair, face-melting piss-off. Bungie community manager David "Deej" Dague said yesterday that the weapon is bugged, and the studio would address the issue on its blog, and so it has—sort of.
The creators of Job Simulator are making Vacation Simulator
http://www.pcgamer.com/the-creators-of-job-simulator-are-making-vacation-simulator/
One of our favorite VR games, Job Simulator, puts you in a post-scarcity society's virtual 'simulation' of what it was like to work a job. It's basically a big environmental toy where you can muck with interactive items—photocopy your head, throw staplers at robots. At The Game Awards today, Owlchemy Labs announced that it's developing a follow-up: Vacation Simulator.
A new From Software game just got teased at The Game Awards 2017
http://www.pcgamer.com/a-new-from-software-game-just-got-teased-at-the-game-awards-2017/
In what may go down as one of the cruelest teases in history, a short video was aired at The Game Awards tonight which confirmed that From Software is working on something unannounced. Given the nature of the video, which appeared to sport a dark fantasy or horror aesthetic, I'm pretty sure it's not the next Armored Core game.
A Way Out, EA's co-op prison break game, has a new trailer and a release date
http://www.pcgamer.com/a-way-out-eas-co-op-prison-break-game-has-a-new-trailer-and-a-release-date/
Electronic Arts announced at The Game Awards tonight that A Way Out, the two-player prison break escapade that's like a David Cage game, only co-op and good, will be out on March 23, 2018. A "friends pass free trial" version of the game will also be available that will make the entire co-op game available to play with a friend who owns the full version.
Beyond Good and Evil 2 teases ship models, story details, in-engine animations
http://www.pcgamer.com/beyond-good-and-evil-2-teases-ship-models-story-details-in-engine-animations/
Beyond Good and Evil 2's appearance at this year's E3 came as a surprise. The fancy trailer that aired during Ubisoft's presentation didn't offer any actual in-game footage, but it at least proved the game's existence. Yesterday, an hour-long livestream provided a progress update—that was condensed into the following five minute developer diary.
Outlast 3 will be made 'at some point', no DLC for Outlast 2, VR game could be in the works
http://www.pcgamer.com/outlast-3-will-be-made-at-some-point-outlast-vr-could-be-in-the-works/
Fans of the Outlast series were treated to a stack of news yesterday evening, all tucked into a post on the game's official Facebook page.
After declaring the series en route to Nintendo's Switch console in the new year, Red Barrels said it has no plans to extend number two by way of DLC in the immediate future.
Adorable dog dungeon crawler Fidel Dungeon Rescue gets a bunch of free content

One of the main reasons we started the Indie Channel was to try and cover as many cool indie games as possible. Alas, some games still slip through the cracks. Case in point: Fidel Dungeon Rescue, an adorable dungeon crawler that somehow passed us by. It just got a big free update, so now seems like a good time to fix this glaring omission.
Twin-stick farming roguelike Atomicrops looks like the exact opposite of Stardew Valley
http://www.pcgamer.com/twin-stick-farming-roguelike-atomicrops-looks-like-the-exact-opposite-of-stardew-valley/
Where Stardew Valley invites you to get cozy and farm at your leisure, Atomicrops demands quick reflexes and sharp aim. It's a self-described "roguelike farming simulator" that plays like a twin-stick shooter, and according to two-man team Toby Dixon and Danny Wynne, it's coming in 2019.
