You have a point but I’m not sure if it’s valid to take that into account. I’m sure even in the West PS2 also launched in much less countries back then as PS4 did. So where do we start and where do we stop differenciating?!

Its absolutely valid, releasing in United States, Canada, UK, France, Germany, etc. 8-9 months later makes a MASSIVE difference.

I get what you're saying though, its impossible to make a 100% accurate comparison since each console could have released in secondary/tertiary countries at different points in their lives but being in ONLY Japan for 8-9 months vs America+Europe is a really big difference.
