Personally I think later Switch revisions will be much better and the price will be lower so its popularity may increase overall. I can see its waning a bit for the current revision though but then accelerate again later with a newer revision. It didn't hurt that Zelda and Mario Odyssey absolutely delivered the maximum game experience although I can see third party support reducing though if it can't be commercially justified by the publishers which might weaken the appeal of the Switch slightly.
However saying that you just don't know what's on the horizon, competing hardware, better game experiences elsewhere. It's not written in stone that Switch will succeed long term but seems very likely at this point.
