He probably will.
Right before the tournament he said he wanted to reach a new form that no one has seen before.
And in one of the endings it's suggesting that him and Goku may be the last two left from Universe 7.



He hasn't had any serious fight yet so it looks like they're saving him for something big.
Although whatever may happen there I doubt it will affect this version of Gohan in DBFZ.
