A couple of months back, James spoke about how Dark Souls mods were on the cusp of becoming weird as hell. Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin now has a level editor and file repacker which lets users reshuffle enemies and/or remove them from the game's levels entirely, facilitating a different type of weird altogether.

Hawaii Rep. Chris Lee came to the attention of gamers a couple of weeks ago when he posted a video on YouTube calling out loot boxes, and Star Wars Battlefront 2 in particular, a game he described as "a Star Wars-themed online casino." In a new video that he put up today, Lee laid out a more detailed plan for curtailing "predatory gaming practices," and explained how people opposed to loot box mechanics can help make it happen.

Korea is coming to Civilization 6 in the Rise and Fall expansion
http://www.pcgamer.com/korea-is-coming-to-civilization-6-in-the-rise-and-fall-expansion/
Korea is coming to Civilization 6, led by the formidable Queen Seondeok, the first Queen of Silla, which along with Baekje and Goguryeo made up the Three Kingdoms of Korea. As described by Wikipedia, Queen Seondeok's reign was not without its problems, including wars with with Baekje and Goguryeo and an uprising led by men who believed that women aren't fit to rule. But she reigned for 15 years, during which she put welfare policies into place, invested heavily in education, and is credited with encouraging "a renaissance in thought, literature, and the arts."

http://www.pcgamer.com/hello-neighbor-releases-this-week-so-heres-a-new-trailer/
Hello Neighbor is a game about stalking your neighbors. More specifically, a game about stalking one particularly creepy neighbor, a neighbor who appears to be hiding something in his home. But who's the real creep, here? I hide stuff from my neighbors too, such as belongings I don't want them to steal. PlayerUkn1wn: Friendly Fire is the latest Steam game trying to capitalize on PUBG's name
http://www.pcgamer.com/playerukn1wn-friendly-fire-is-the-latest-steam-game-trying-to-capitalize-on-pubgs-name/
We've seen the battle royale genre explode recently as developers scramble to reproduce or riff on the startling success of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds. But the side-effect of PUBG's popularity—combined with Steam Direct, which now lets anyone with $100 list and sell a game—is an increasing number of games trying to capitalize not on PUBG's features but simply on its name.

>>This is another example of Valve's mismanagement. Don't they have a team checking out the submitted projects to avoid things like these?

http://www.pcgamer.com/oh-my-godheads-leaves-early-access-gains-launch-trailer/
Oh My Godheads, a game best summarized as "capture the flag only with the heads of angry deities instead of flags", has left Early Access. In doing so it's gained two new levels (Lost Island and Viking Town) as well as two new godheads (Kali and Badb) and a launch trailer, as you can see above.

http://www.pcgamer.com/rumu-the-vacuum-cleaner-sci-fi-adventure-releases-next-week/
Announced in October, Rumu is a point-and-click adventure starring a sentient vacuum cleaner, set in an eerily abandoned sci-fi Smart Home. If that's not a perfect elevator pitch, I don't know what is. There's also a cat in it. Oh, and it's releasing next week, on December 13.

http://www.pcgamer.com/superhot-reveals-mind-control-delete-standalone-expansion/
Time manipulation shooter Superhot was well received by Phil last year, with our reviewer billing it "effortlessly stylish, perhaps to the detriment of substance." In a bid to expand its self-acknowledged "linear nature", developer Superhot Team has unveiled Mind Control Delete—a work-in-progress standalone expansion that adds roguelike elements to the original formula.

Destiny 2's first expansion, Curse of Osiris, is now live, bringing a shot of fun campaign content and a much-needed patch. Among other improvements and fixes, the coinciding patch included nerfs to problem PvP weapons like the Uriel's Gift auto rifle and Last Hope sidearm. Yay! Or not. Little did we know, the expansion also added the most overpowered weapon in the history of Destiny PvP: the Prometheus Lens, a new exotic trace rifle.
