Warcraft 3 would likely be the one I have put the most hours into (quite a lot of DOTA)

I felt / feel the same way, I already played enough WC3 that I was afraid I would lose myself in WOW (heard lots of horror stories) so I never bought it.
As for the OP besides War Craft 3, I'd say Tekken as a series (I own them all) or perhaps the Goldeneye / Perfect Dark combo on N64
