I hope inside out tracking can prove itself in fast paced games. The limitations of the controllers having to remain in view and the slight hiccups in head tracking that have been reported so far need to be ironed out a bit. Basically it has the same problem as move, controllers need to stay in view of the camera, except now the camera is on your head. It's better suited for roomscale, yet when sitting it has the same problems apart from obscuring the headset with the move light.

And yeah since MS doesn't make the headsets themselves, how far are they going to go to support it with games. Or maybe that's a benefit and they'll try to get OR / Steam VR running on XBox One X instead. I guess MS will first want to wait to see what happens with XBox One X sales after the holiday period. They'll be releasing VR for a niche of a niche, and while the headsets are on par in pricing with PSVR+camera, the X is a lot pricier than a standard ps4 or a pro.

Hopefully MS doesn't leave me hanging too long on their promises of high fidelity VR. Bring it on!

I dont think microsft would really want to push the VR market the same as sony did, they are more likely going for the vavle way and trying to make the plattform as attractive as possible for developers.

I would totally expect vr mode for some first party games like forza and halo though

I dont think any big player would really "wait and see". Its pretty likely that vr will get very, very big in the future (the tech is amazing and almost everybody that tried it was impressed).

Wait and see would be the same nokia did with smartphones. No big company is that dumb.

Almost all big tech companies are already into vr and it has huge potential imo. I think with vr, gaming will reach way bigger audiences then it can do right now for example.
