I am only a few hours into the game, so keep that in mind as you write your posts.
Keep this thread spoiler free, please.

Recently I have been playing a fair share of Source engine games, so going back to a 30 FPS title, is quite jarring.
I am not sure if it is due to Source's low latency, or 60+ FPS, but Xenoblade 2 seems really sluggish.

I have played both in Handheld and Docked, there is a huge difference.
To my eye, the game does not appear to be rendering at 720p when in handheld mode (though I could be wrong).
Handheld mode does look pretty decent (resolution aside), colours really do pop on the Switch's screen.
Watching the cutscenes in handheld mode is kind of like watching older anime on a streaming service, minus macroblocking.

I really do love the general art direction in the game, given the power constraints.
Monolith Soft leaned into PBR heavily with this title, not to create a photo-real game, but a stylised one.
The materials in the game help to accentuate the larger than life presentation; the textures are criminally low res.

Jumping in this game, does not feel all too good; Odyssey kind of spoiled me on that front.
I am not yet fond of not being able to auto attack, and move, without canceling my auto-combo.
I wish there was more things to do whilst in early game combat; maybe a spammy art, or something.

Please, developers: stop shoving low res assets into the camera during cutscenes.
Polish your cutscenes more, so when an object is about to come close to the camera, it is of higher quality.
Though to be fair, there is a lot of cutscenes in XBC2 and they are done in real time.
At least polish the first couple of hours, that is the area most players will judge the game on.
