Rebellion has announced that it will remaster the acclaimed sequel to its classic Battlezone game, Battlezone II: Combat Commander. This remaster will be called Battlezone Combat Commander and developer Big Boat Interactive will be behind it.

 

Battlezone Combat Commander will come with slick new visuals and mod support. Moreover, it will support cross-play online multiplayer between GOG & Steam for up to 14 players, achievements, cloud saves and more.

 

Like its predecessor, Battlezone Combat Commander will feature a first-person perspective and players can pilot futuristic, customizable war machines. Therefore, players can expecto to pilot hover-tanks, colossal mech walkers, lightning-fast mortar-bikes and more.

 

The game will also come with a gripping singleplayer campaign. In this mode, players will learn to plot strategy, construct bases, form their armies, deploy defenses and call in airstrikes.

 

In order to celebrate this announcement, Rebellion has also released the first screenshots for Battlezone Combat Commander. The game will be available in 2018.

I didn't get to play the original, but I can say I am looking forward to playing the remaster, as I like me some mech combat and RTS gameplay. Would be nice to see Steam Workshop support as well.
