The interface can do better at 4K@144FPS without DSC but the best part is that it can do that with HDR10 while it's competitor (DP 1.4) is still stuck with peasant sRGB and VESA knows that they have a dud with DisplayPort LOL ... 

DP has no dynamic HDR metadata, no eARC, no standardized VRR and no standardized tone mapping bypass (Quick Frame Transport) ... (Does DP even support 16-bits per colour ?) 

For now I don't really care much about color for my PC gaming. High resolution and 144Hz go first and everything else is bonus. So far 4k144Hz monitors aren't even on market and one reason for that is both HDMI and DP being too slow to adapt. I do appreciate color for my TV which is also connected to my PC but via HDMI. Though there I do not care much about high frequencies.
