Story was way more barebones than Xenobkade X, and that game gets flak for it. 

IMO, the only good thing about FFXV is the world exploration, and even that is a sandbox whose inhabitants seem stuck in time and the main story is beyond them.

Like literally, Xenoblade X outdoes FFXV in every regard. Well... except food graphics i suppose.

Agreed. The fact that the games received a similar reception baffles me. I'm a huge FF fan, but only the games that came before FFXII. The rest of them are... meh at best. Except FFXIV which is now a competent MMO.
