Which one was the one with a Dratini as a prize? That was pretty broken if you got it early on like that! I think I got it in Fire Red (not due to slot wins obviously) so I'd assume Red/Blue had it as well.

Course, it's a good thing GameFreak/Nintendo were in charge of Pokemon. If it were EA there would have been a credit card slot in the gameboy for the slot machines or something

I think it was just Gen 1, or possible Gen 2 as well. I don't remember...

Luckily in game purchases wasn't really even a concept back then. Though nowadays Pokemon just gives rare pokemon and items through timed events, which is not ideal, but at least it doesn't cost extra.
