| Ivant said: So I have just got this yesterday, having played about an hour, at this point I'm going to say I really regret spending that £300 on it. I've tried all the adjustments, and the resolution just looks terrible to me, I can barely read the writing, and I had an eye test just 2 months ago and the optician said my eyesight is perfect.. So either I'm doing something wrong, my headset is broken or you are all raving about ps2 style graphics. Honestly it looks worse than the original release on the Xbox 360.. The move Controls are clunky, although I'm sure with time I would get used to them, however the head tracking seems permanently out, I'm pressing the move button and it's advancing me 45degrees to my left, constantly. The fact you can't walk backwards seems a major flaw and obstacle in this game, and for half the time I've been playing so far, one of my weapons (dual wielding) has been floating 2 meters in front of me (although handy for hitting people running towards you, it destroys immersion) Perhaps there's something im doing wrong (completely open to that possibility given I'm a VR newb) maybe my headset doesn't work (brand new, in a box with sticky clear disc seals attached, and all packaging correct, twist tied wires in individual plastic etc) or I just don't suit VR. I have never in my life been motion sick before, but the tracking issue (running at an angle to fov) seems to be giving me it! |
Skyrim doesnt have the best graphics of the VR games yet but it definitly look way better then ps2 games. Graphics is nothing that makes a game for me though. Mario Odyssey and Zelda BOTW are one of my fav. games this years and both dont have great graphics either.
Have you set your IPD in the settings?
And make sure you wear the headset correctly. If you wear it wrong, everything will be blurry (there is just a small sweet spot where its sharp).
Are you playing on standard PS4 or Pro? Graphics are obviously better on the PS4 Pro, so if graphics are that important to you, you may consider a upgrade.
If you need better graphics (also on OG PS4) try games like:
- Call of Duty Jackal Aussalt (free)
- Robinson the Journey
- Resident Evil 7
- Star Wars Battlefront Xwing VR Mission
- Bound (currently free with PS+, has a VR mode)
- Rigs: Mechanized Combat League
Those games definitly looking way better then everything that was released on ps3.
