Well, okay, I'll give another proper hint.
Hint #3... (sigh) - This game was part of a huge fad that was everywhere back in its day, but quickly destroyed itself through oversaturation. Both the main companies involved with it tried to revive it recently, without much success.

 

Oh, it's Rock Band 2.
