I have the 900E and it is a great tv, looks amazing. I don't notice the lag in game mode. Since I have to connect directly to it instead of via the amplifier I cut out the extra lag added by that, at the cost of downgrading to lossy 5.1 sound.
You have to watch out with sound bars as well if you value lag free gaming. Connecting through hdmi with them adds lag just as with amplifiers. However connecting a separate optical or digital audio lead to the soundbar/amp can introduce lipsync issues as the bar/amp won't have the info how much to delay the sound to match up with the video delay.
