Friday news, part two:

The hurtful healer Moira is now live in Overwatch
http://www.pcgamer.com/the-hurtful-healer-moira-is-now-live-in-overwatch/
The Talon-teaming Overwatch healer hero Moira, who made her debut on the PTR less than two weeks ago, is now live and playable in the full game. Today's update also makes a few bug fixes to the game, and brings a minor buff to Ana, a nerf to Mercy, and slight playability improvements to Lucio and Winston.

Beamdog says it's not working on a new Planescape project
http://www.pcgamer.com/beamdog-says-its-not-working-on-a-new-planescape-project/
We reported a couple of days ago, based on a clip of video captured in a documentary about Beamdog, that the studio might be working on a new Planescape RPG. The clip revealed character concept art of Planescape's Fated faction, under the heading of Planescape: Unraveled—itself a play on the name of a major character in Planescape: Torment.
(...)Today, however, Beamdog boss Trent Oster officially denied that it's happening.

Skip all that unpleasant gameplay in these loot box sims coming to Steam
http://www.pcgamer.com/these-new-loot-box-opening-sims-finally-dispense-with-gameplay/
Box Looter 2018 which is due to release on Steam on November 30, is all about opening loot boxes. All you do, it seems, is open them, presumably with the audio accompaniment of cash registers chiming. Developer Ludo Land (aka indie dev Logan Fieth) describes it as a "dumb joke game" and a "fun little satirical game", but you needn't play it that way. You can just relish the joy of opening loot boxes.
And then there's I Can't Believe It's Not Gambling, developed by Mutant Entertainment Studios.

Blizzard to reveal a batch of Hearthstone: Kobolds & Catacombs cards on Monday
http://www.pcgamer.com/blizzard-to-reveal-a-batch-of-hearthstone-kobolds-catacombs-cards-on-monday/
Since Hearthstone's Kobolds & Catacombs expansion was announced at BlizzCon, we've been waiting for another chance to see how the set is shaping up. But not for much longer, because on 20 November Blizzard will broadcast a card reveal Twitch stream hosted by senior game designer Peter Whalen and Brian "Brian Kibler" Kibler. (For anyone unaware, Kibler is a streamer and caster who we profiled in June.)

Master X Master, NCsoft's hero-swapping MOBA, will be closed in January
http://www.pcgamer.com/master-x-master-ncsofts-hero-swapping-moba-will-be-closed-in-january/
We've had some good things to say about Master X Master, NCsoft's dual-hero MOBA that came out in June. It wasn't perfect, but as we noted as recently as August, even "in an increasingly crowded market, Master X Master deserves a second look." But it didn't get that benefit of the doubt—an outcome we indirectly predicted in our first report on it—and NCsoft announced today that it will be closed at the end of January.

Sea of Thieves wants players to 'be more pirate' in Trainspotting-style trailer
http://www.pcgamer.com/sea-of-thieves-wants-players-to-be-more-pirate-in-trainspotting-style-trailer/
Ahead of its sometime-in-2018 release date, Sea of Thieves has spent the last several months showcasing its mechanics, modest technical specs for lesser-equipped machines, and behind-the-scenes dev processes, among a number of other things. Its latest trailer is less serious in tone, but is good fun nevertheless.

Football Manager save files can't be carried over year-on-year for tech and legal reasons
http://www.pcgamer.com/football-manager-save-files-cant-carry-over-year-on-year-for-tech-and-legal-reasons/
The question is: is carrying over saves year-on-year at least possible?
"Both technologically and legally, the answer to that is no," Sports Interactive's Miles Jacobson tells me. "When we do our licensing deals, they are for a specific season and there comes a point where you have to stop selling the game as well. We only have the license for that club data, for example, for that particular season."

The Darkness 2 is very cheap on Steam right now
http://www.pcgamer.com/the-darkness-2-is-very-cheap-on-steam-right-now/
The game is currently $5.99 on Steam – down from the usual $39.99. You can also get a four-pack for $17.99, which is a good idea if you want to make the most of the game's co-op mode with three other friends. If you've just completed the new Wolfenstein and need another punchy shooter with a cool story, you might as well give it a shot.

http://www.pcgamer.com/overwatch-is-free-to-try-this-weekend/
Blizzard announced that Overwatch was free to try this weekend last week, and Andy reported on it here. But whose memory stretches back a full eight days? Consider this a reminder, then, and know that Endless Space 2 and Rainbow Six: Siege are also running complimentary opt-in periods over the next few days.
