Not sure if the subject matter has anything to do with it. Not buying something just because you are an atheist. I would say the larger reason not to buy this as a billionaire would be that many question it's authenticity. Plus even if it is authentic,  half of the painting was redone. 

I'm not an atheist lol, I'm talking about the untruth that Jesus a man whom lived in the Middle East and looks like he was born in Europe.
