The church wanted me to go around asking people I know because "it is their calling", and I can't say this will be helpful to myself or anyone else because I've never done anything like this. So ideas would be great. |
My friend has actually been in Vietnam/Thailand for months, and she earned that money by working her ass off as a waiter at J. Alexander's for a couple months. Usually the fancy restaurants actually have a fairly difficult exam to pass, but once you do you can make a ton of money in a short period of time if you're willing to put in the work.
That worked for her, at least, and once you get there social media and various apps have made it very easy to live extremely frugally staying at hostels that you know are safe and friendly in advance.
