Well you could go for a Siamese, they seem to cause less trouble but you should have a female and have her operated so she does not go crazy with the need of having kittens.

Sphynx cats are a good choice too but they are a very rare breed and therefore very expensive. I would avoid Persian cats as they have long hair and I don't like shed long hair all over my place.

The Devon Rex seems like a nice race with big ears and stuff but I don't know how tame those are...
