4) Is there anything I should be doing to make sure it stays in top shape?

Again i'm not new to PC gaming or anything this is just the first time I have a computer that has good hardware dedicated to playing games so i'm taking it more seriously lol.

Welcome back to the Master Race, and gratz for your purchase.

Two Windows tricks that never get old are: making a partition just for the swap file and looking for services (you can find a lot of lists on Internet) that can be disabled or set to run just on demand and not always on by default.
Clean the registry every now and then, and after every uninstall and before every new install (both of games or other programs) but don't set the utility to always run in the background, it would be another thing running and using RAM and CPU, besides that each additional service running can increase security vulnerabilities and very recently a registry cleaning utility update was found to introduce a dangerous exploitable hole.
Deciding in which partitions or directories indexing is better on or off is trickier, but if you want, you can find a lot of guides about it too.
