X's side quests were bad in regards to the collecting random things.
Not gonna watch, but I hope not too guided. I hope guided only means it tells you better where to go and not a giant blinking quest icon or arrows on the ground guiding you.
I found Xenoblade Chronicles 1 side quests to be great in how they were done. Only annoying things were when a fetch quest required one to find an item that had like a 1% drop rate in like only 2 destinated locations. X was really bad in this. Found myself many times jus tdoing circles in an area collecting every blue dot and hoping I get it. Then if not, coming back later to hope again. You just had to get lucky to get it. Stuff like that should have been a "red" item in a set location. I have no qualms about fetch quests, just not rare rng fetch quests.
