Most gamers game on 1080P so I am not sure what advantage X has over the Pro or even standard PS4? Moreover PS4 exclusives games is a very big factor IMHO. X is only for hardcore xbox gamers. 500$ for mid gen console is crazy and even Pro for 400$ is not a good. May be next year with slim version of Pro and hopefully better support for 1080P users

His comment implied there was absolutely no reason to own an X1X, which is a position i disagree with. The value of the X1X's advantage is up for debate (the PS4, X1S, Pro, and X1X all have things going for them after all), but that it has one is undeniable. If i didn't game on PC i'd value the X1X's multi-plat performance quite a lot. I would likley be in a minority, as you say 1080p is still the standard right now and the PS4/X1S are a lot cheaper, but those that do want an X1X aren't deranged.

Doesn't matter what the standard display resolution is.
It is undeniable the benefits a 4k rendered image downscaled to 1080P brings.

You know those images that look like bullshots at 1080P? It's a similar process to how those are created... By downscaling them from a higher resolution.

Besides... We haven't obtained truly photo-realistic graphics even at 720P yet, let alone 1080P. There is lots of room to improve, regardless of display resolution.

The Xbox One X will appeal to some gamers. Others it won't... And that's okay.
I personally haven't played my Xbox One X for more than 10 minuets since purchasing it a few days ago, spent more time doing updates, there are just no games are enticing me to play it over my PC right meow.
