Antarctica isn't just a giant ice cube though. The ice is on top of the land and if you were to take the ice away there would still be a continent there.

Oh, and Europe is special

All I see are a bunch of islands. So you could say it is a giant ice cube with some rocks under it. If this is a continent then Greenland would like to apply continent citizenship. 

Also Europe is just a big peninsula. So not special.
