The way I see it, is that even if there’s only a 1/1000 chance of anything bad happening, that bad thing is still over 10000 times worse than being 10 minutes late. Doing the math, your logic makes sense.

I do understand this fear, but the thing is, that if I acted out on these fears, I don't know if I'd ever leave the house. I used to frequently be scared of cougars attacking me, me getting murdered or getting into an accident, etc. I end up having to calm myself down instead, because otherwise I'd not be able to do anything.
