I don't get some of these responses.
KI was mentioned, 1 it was released even worse than SFV, and it did fine overall. It was because it was a exclusive and first fighter on the Xbox one. They didn't do anything differently. Also I don't even call that game a success. It lasted, but no one really mentions it or anything. SFV is good, gameplay wise. It did launch with only these 10 minute stories for I believe 16 characters, practice, demo, pvpvs only, trials and survival for offline then the usual online modes. But lets be honest. The game didn't have that much at launch but, but people have and still are blowing the issues out like it's more than it is.
2, owning the base game alone you now have more content than ANY first release mainline street fighter game and apart from 4 more than any second release. You've got the first actually story mode, plus character stories. You'll be getting what sounds to be the most dedicated arcade mode in the mainline games when it releases next year for free. By doing the games basics you'll get enough fight money to get Atleast a next 4ish or so characters. Yeah, fm is a problem when you don't get much possibility to get, but all modes, updates etc are free. Only thing you need fm or money for is extra costumes and stages. Characters you can choose how to deal with it the way you want. I personally think people go way overboard the moment a company does something that's not ideal. The game was made with long term in mind. Look at how much it's improved. At launch I only did the stories and didn't touch until characters released to try them. Now I actually have things to do, and the game is great. Even better next year. Also Mk shouldn't be compared since it started last Gen. Though I agree overall. But it would compare to sfiv not 5.
