You mention "Inmigration background" as if it was something negative, souspicious, something to care about in terms of security. Not sure if it's racist, but definitly there is something subtly xenophobous there. And you mention you're not paranoid, but then you narrate how you take "security measures" oftenly to avoid possible dangers. Honestly, you're right when you say the media has placed dangerous stereotipes and fears in people's minds. Statistically, you're more likely to die in a traffick accident than on a terrorist attack. If you're in the US you're thousands of times more likely to die killed by gunshots by a US citizen than by a terrorist attack with bombs and stuff. You should try to stop worrying about that security concerns, watch less TV and enjoy life without preoccupations ;)
