I agree. I don't think he was being innapropriate. I think he is trying to say that prayers don't protect people and change is needed in the laws. That would indeed be a better response to the constant shootings happening in the US.
Like, the logic that guns don't kill people, people do. While there is some logic to it, if you put guns in those people's hands, they will kill. And in the first place, guns are for killing. That is what they were created for. So, yes, guns are for killing and people kill people. It's an explosive combo.
