I like speedrunning, though I mostly do it in a casual manner, with unoptimized strats (mostly the ones I'm comfortable with, regardless of those making unachievable World Record, but I couldn't care less about that) and plenty of room to improve most of the time. I do it for fun to see and find new ways to master games I already like, and also as the added, clock-ticking challenge, but I don't think I'd ever attempt it professionally (looks like a good way to learn how to hate games you love). That being said, I do love watching professional speedrunning too.
I generally feel compelled to do it in games that have an achievement or a reward associated with speedrunning (Infinite Rocket Launcher in Resident Evil, for example), so I try mastering those first. Then there's a bunch of games I like which I sometimes do my casual speedruns, like Dark Souls.
Notable game(s) I've speedrunned:
· The Resident Evil franchise; generally under three hours.
· The Evil Within (around 4 hours)
· Braid (40 minutes)
· Dark Souls (3 hours approximatedly)
· Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 (around 4 hours each)
· Deus Ex Human Revolution (2 hours)
· Dead Space (can't remember tbh)
· Soul Edge/Blade (Edge Master in less than 30 minutes)
