The dolphin says no to EXP, but anyone who intends to buy the DLC should be prepared for a rise of the level cap and history maps that require high stats and feature more battles with character restrictions. Besides, if the argument is that the game is too easy as it is, why should you opt for offensive skills that are bound to improve your characters more in the short term than level ups. Astra makes things a lot more manageable than the meager stat bonuses from a few additional level ups. Keep an eye out for the S-rank rewards on history maps. If you beat battles that grant B (silver sword etc.) or A (whatever their name in other languages is) ranked weapons, they will be added into the mix of weapons that can randomly drop from enemies in all modes. The sooner you manage to beat such battles, the sooner you can build up an arsenal of weapons that have up to 240 attack power. On the same note, if you've got a weapon you know you will use for a while, forge in the three skills that grant higher weapon quality from drops, more weapon slots from drops and higher drop rate of rare items. The former two will improve the weapons you find notably while the latter will allow you to gain more of the materials you need for character builds. The dolphin is once again going to see that the game is already too easy, but it's better to be safe than sorry in preparation for the DLC. Hyrule Warriors required quite a lot of grinding because the later DLC upped the ante significantly. Lastly, the hardest battles in Fire Emblem Warriors have a recommendation of level 80, so it really doesn't hurt if you work towards that and have several characters that have at least level 60. The five history maps overlap in their general difficulty, so it's also worth it to switch between them instead of trying to fully complete one before moving on to the next. Maps 4 and 5 unlock most of the A-ranked weapons. |
If you're getting the DLC and want to max level your characters then sure go for it. I'm not gonna get the DLC though. I enjoy the game but not enough for that, especially when most of the characters are probably just gonna be clones. The game is relatively easy for me either way, the offensive skills just let me get through it faster and make it possible for me to beat missions despite my units being as much as 30 levels below the map's level.
