So basically like Mists of Pandera and on words minus the threat from Legion. The whole Horde vs Alliance is really being over played and we need more creativity and themes like what WotLK, BC, and even Cata gave us. This looks to be the most vanilla expansion yet.

If you've been following the lore, you'd know that the Legion has basically been crippled severely, and their leader sealed away for all eternity. Mists was about finding an old land and a third faction. This one is about taking the fight to two islands and not some third faction or race.

People have been pining for another great war, rather than some petty squabble of a war like with Cata, Mists and WoD.

As far as another great war between the Horde and the Alliance goes. Having Sylvanas Windrunner the leader as the horde is a good way to start that. I haven't been following it closely with the last few expansions but I doubt she has the compassion or understanding that Thrall did or even Vol'jin. She's a great character but she's brutal!

With all the big baddies and problems in the Azeroth the whole Horde vs Alliance thing comes off as super silly as they need to be united against such threats that continue to keep coming. At this rate it feels forced in order to maintain the faction war for PvP. Unity was even starting to seem possible near the end of WotLK.
