http://www.pcgamer.com/the-norwood-suite-cosmo-ds-twin-peaks-inspired-adventure-game-has-a-free-demo/
The Norwood Suite is a wonderfully quirky first-person adventure game inspired by the likes of Twin Peaks, Gone Home and Soma. It's the work of Off-Peak developer Cosmo D who, as a professional musician, has crafted an equally wonderful soundtrack that compliments the game's idiosyncratic, off-the-wall style.

>>The demo is available at the game's Steam page.

http://www.pcgamer.com/american-truck-simulator-new-mexico-dlc-release-date-set/
When Fraser covered American Truck Simulator's New Mexico DLC two weeks ago, he reckoned its release was "presumably close" given the fact SCS was keen to get eyes on its trailer. It appears our writer was correct: American Truck Simulator's New Mexico DLC is due November 9.

http://www.pcgamer.com/crytek-will-show-off-live-hunt-showdown-gameplay-this-weekend-during-extra-life/
Extra Life, a charity that supports Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, becomes extra-visible once a year during its 24-hour gaming marathon event. It's a bit like the Jerry Lewis telethons of old, except instead of one guy on the teevee, it's thousands of gamers from around the world taking part, playing their favorites for a solid 24 hours (or whatever they can manage) and livestreaming their fun/suffering for those of us who'd prefer to support the effort by donating money and getting a decent night of sleep.

http://www.pcgamer.com/quirky-ctf-action-game-oh-my-godheads-coming-next-month/
Oh My Godheads is a multiplayer action game about stealing the heads of understandably angry deities and hoarding them all for yourself. Developer Titutitech describes it as a mix of capture-the-flag and "couch-based multiplayer" from the '90s, and announced today that it's leaving Steam Early Access and officially releasing on Tuesday, December 5.

Perhaps even more importantly, it also confirmed that Rainbow Six Siege Year Three is on the way.

Try the demo for Crown of Leaves, a visual novel about an anthropomorphic jeweler
http://www.pcgamer.com/try-the-demo-for-crown-of-leaves-a-visual-novel-about-an-anthropomorphic-jeweler/
Crown of Leaves is "a mix of a visual novel and a point-and-click" adventure game, to hear developer The Broken Horn tell it. After trying the free demo available via Itch.io for myself, I'm inclined to agree.

Legion TD 2 launch trailer showcases competitive, team-based tower defense action
http://www.pcgamer.com/legion-td-2-launch-trailer-showcases-competitive-team-based-tower-defense-action/
Legion TD is a very popular mod for Warcraft 3 that also happens to be very old, having originally been released in 2009. Which is why the people behind it went to Kickstarter last year to seek support for the creation of a standalone sequel, Legion TD 2. They got the money—more than $66,000—and on November 20, you'll get the game.

http://www.pcgamer.com/assassins-creed-origins-103-update-helps-nvidia-owners-but-leaves-amd-behind/
The Assassin's Creed: Origins 1.03 patch is now live, and for Nvidia owners the news appears to be good, as our early testing indicates a performance increase in the neighborhood of 10-15 percent over what it offered out of the gate. People with AMD GPUs, on the other hand, don't appear to be so lucky.

The Evil Within 2 director weighs in on scarcity of big budget horror
http://www.pcgamer.com/the-evil-within-2-director-weighs-in-on-scarcity-of-big-budget-horror/
In my opinion – and in the opinion of our reviewer Joe – The Evil Within 2 is a damn fine horror game. But overall, survival horror isn't particularly huge on the blockbuster games scene anymore. Sure, it's better than it was five years ago, with games like Alien: Isolation, Resident Evil 7 and the original Evil Within releasing to positive reviews, but they're not as common as they were in the early 2000s.

Gigantic developer Motiga has shut down
http://www.pcgamer.com/gigantic-developer-motiga-has-shut-down/
Motiga, developer of free-to-play hero shooter Gigantic, nearly shut down last year when boss Chris Chung gathered all 75 employees and told them that the studio had run out of money. But the team showed up to work regardless, and soldiered on until publisher Perfect Games swooped in to acquire the company. Unfortunately, Perfect Games has now decided that the developer isn't profitable enough, and has closed Motiga's doors once and for all.

Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord developer unsheathes physics-based combat system
http://www.pcgamer.com/mount-blade-2-bannerlord-developer-unveils-physics-based-combat-system/
The Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord team have revealed a physics-based combat system for the RPG that they say will take all the randomness out of cutting down your foes. While previous Mount and Blade games calculated damage using variables outside of the player's control, Bannerlord will physically simulate all of a weapon's characteristics—length, mass, weight distribution, swing speed and direction—and spit out a damage figure.

Next For Honor season adds a Viking Shaman and a dual katana-wielding Samurai
http://www.pcgamer.com/next-for-honor-season-introduces-two-new-heroes/
The next For Honor season is starting on November 14, and with it comes two new heroes. In slashes the Aramusha, a dual katana-wielding Samurai Hybrid who's fast and good at dodging attacks. The Vikings, not to be left out, get a new assassin called the Shaman, who carries a hatchet and a dagger and gains two abilities when enemies are bleeding. The first is Blood Trance, which gives the Shaman health for every successful strike, and the other is Predator's Mercy, which is basically a powerful attack aimed at finishing an enemy off.
