The sad thing about this is that it doesn't even matter. Sanders wouldn't have won against Trump either. I mean it sucks for him but was anything actually lost in this corruption scandal?

And yes still, even the most corrupt version of a Hillary Clinton is still better than a mentally disabled orangutan as president.

You don't know that.  You can tell yourself these agreeable hypotheticals to assuage any sense of accountability, but you have no way of truly knowing.

I could say Sanders polled better than Clinton against Trump in every single poll of 2016 and 2017. I could point out specifically how he faired better in the midwest where the election was decided. I could show how Sanders gets a room full of Trump voters in freaking West Virginia to cheer for him.  I could, but that is a hypothetical so I cannot know for certain how it would have unfolded.

What I can say is this. Clinton and her campaign undermined democracy, promoting a deeply unpopular candidate that lost in embarrassing fashion to a reality television star fool.  The blame lies with her, voters are not compelled to vote for masters, candidates are there to persuade and inspire voters to come out and vote for them.

In the end, liberals lost. We lost big and have been losing big for years now and the policies enacted have both wide and personal consequences for me and others.  I'm tired of in fighting, of corruption, and mostly losing because our own incompetence always a lowering of the bar so no matter how bad it gets "it doesn't matter".  We can win in 2020. It's right there for the taking.  If we ignore our problems and belittle each other rather than have a clear focus and message that wins over voters 2020 will just be a repeat seeing Trump win.
