It's a newer manufacturing process however it doesn't hold a candle to the Tegra X1 in terms of ability and power. The Apollo Lake chipsets are the last breath of the failed Atom line.  They are designed for entry level devices like economy laptops, and tablets. Their whole selling point is low power consumption and that's it. 

I see, so a bad choice for the platform, but also I don't think anyone is expecting anything from this system right?
