FFIX and X, closely behind
IX for being back to the origins with very original main characters and charming Moogles (they had so much personality)! It had a great ability learning system (that makes it somewhat credible) and amazing places to see and explore. It brought the old FF's magic/fantasy back.
FFX for having an amazing story that blew my mind and made me cry. The battle system was nothing special but the sphere grid was fun and I found it somewhat more varied and fun to use than just leveling up.
I also really liked VI but I think XI is even better. :O *Puts on armour*
Most FF's have a love/hate reaction from people.
