Quality.

Every company would love to have pricing like Nintendo, but it's usually not feasible for them because the market catches on and realizes the lack of quality.
So what those other companies fall back on is DLC and microtransaction madness in the long run while upfront they offer crazy special editions to squeeze more money out of early adopters.

Hmm...  Let's see...

There is not one (NOT EVEN ONE) WiiU nor Wii game on the top 75 VGC chart as of sept 09th.  So I really have to wonder: Where are these people that are buying these games two or three years after its release?

And if the legs provided by the "high quality" of these games is what is preventing them to drop in price, then where are these legs people speak of?

Oh! And btw, Mario Tennis (which has a Metascore of 58 and a user score of 5.3) is still selling for 49.99 on Nintendo's website.

So...  Nope. Quality has absolutely nothing to do with it.
