I don't think it will, mainly because I believe this trailer (and some of the tweets) are designed to throw us off the scent. I believe those clickers we see running into the scene at the end are in fact runners and ND has just switched assets there to make us believe this is present day. Clickers do not run like that and because I know how grounded ND are with the franchise, I don't believe they'll want to tamper with the basic premises of the 'known' infected. Therefore, if the scene continued, they'd have to replace those assets with runners and give the time line away.
For me, this is right at the beginning of the infections. We're seeing Ellie's pregant mother strung up and a cult leader about to cut that baby out (listen to what she says). I'm going out on a limb here in saying these are 'The Wolves', another faction like the Fireflies but more aggressive. I also think we're going to play in a much more open environment at this point in the game, which will be the opening rather like Sarah's story was for the first game:
