switch is 9th gen, its competing with the ps5, not ps4. The Wii U was the PS4s equivalent.

Utter nonsense. The generational categorization is moot when there is no fictional PS5, with "mid-gen" upgrades being released. The Switch is competing with the PS4 or whatever else is on the market right now. It's that simple.
