The main game is easy and I believe they did this so people of all ages could progress through the game and enjoy it without having to be frustrated. If you want to see the real difficulty of the game and see all Odyssey has to offer you must play the post game. I've died a countless amount of times in the post game. Probably more than I have in any other Mario game. Get all 999 moons and come back and say it was easy.
