Call Of Duty: WWII doesnt work at all without the day 1 patch. The disc is completely useless without the internet

The Xbox 1 didn't work without a day one patch if I recall correctly.

To be fair they did advertise that as a "feature" at one point... So from a legal standpoint it might get treated differently.

It won't work after the launch date either if your internet connection is sub par or non-existent.

None of this BS that holds you hostage by the balls of needing the patch to play.

That is provided the content servers are even activated in 30 years time... Which means you would need to hunt around for a console that has the patch already downloaded to play this Physical release or enjoy a worthless coaster.
