Part 2 of the news:

Noir puzzle series Framed coming to Steam next year
http://www.pcgamer.com/noir-puzzle-series-framed-coming-to-steam-next-year/
Framed, a two-part series of noir puzzles games built around rearranging comic book-like panels to change the flow of scenes, is coming to Steam next year with the release of the Framed Collection. Developer Loveshack Entertainment says it will release in early 2018, but an exact release date has not been confirmed, nor has a price. For reference, Framed and Framed 2 currently cost $8 on mobile platforms, so it's reasonable to expect the Framed collection to cost $10 to $20.

Asymmetric multiplayer murder sim Friday the 13th is getting a mysterious new game mode called Paranoia, available free to everyone that owns the game. There's no release date (it's coming "soon"), or details of what it will entail. However, fans are speculating that the mode will disguise the killer as a camp counselor, meaning players won't know who the murderer is until they're getting stabbed in the neck.

You can't die in Heat Signature's Halloween event
http://www.pcgamer.com/you-cant-die-in-heat-signatures-halloween-event/
I like it when holiday events in games add a new mechanic or game mode rather than just some spooky skins (some of the old TF2 Scream Fortress updates spring to mind). So I'm pleased that Heat Signature, the 2D space stealth 'em up, is doing something interesting this Halloween: until November 1, you can't die in the game. If you suffocate, bleed out, or get incinerated by an exploding pod you'll permanently turn into a living skeleton.

Minecraft gets an official Stranger Things skin pack

If you're a fan of both Minecraft and sci-fi horror show Stranger Things (and I imagine there's a fair bit of crossover) then you're in luck: the two have teamed up to bring the series' characters into the block-based sandbox.

Mousey RPG Ghost of a Tale will sneak out in March
http://www.pcgamer.com/mousey-rpg-ghosts-of-a-tale-will-sneak-out-in-march/
Remember Ghost of a Tale? It's the very pretty RPG that first surfaced in 2013 and features a mouse called Tilo exploring the medieval world of Dwindling Heights Keep, which is inhabited only by animals. It hit Early Access in July and was due to squeak out this year, but now it's been pushed back slightly and had a more concrete date slapped on it: March 2018.

Indie competitive fighter Punch Planet slams into Early Access next month
http://www.pcgamer.com/indie-competitive-fighter-punch-planet-slams-into-early-access-next-month/
Punch Planet is a good-looking 2D indie fighting game created by a three man studio that includes a Double Fine designer. The game will hit Early Access on November 8, and you'll be able to duke it out online with four playable characters, one of which is simply called 'Dog', which made me giggle.

Hand-drawn JRPG Fell Seal: Arbiter's Mark meets Kickstarter goal, Early Access in March
http://www.pcgamer.com/hand-drawn-jrpg-fell-seal-arbiters-mark-meets-kickstarter-goal-early-access-in-march/
The first thing you notice about Fell Seal: Arbiter's Mark is the hand-drawn maps, which are bright and colourful and generally gorgeous. The game is a tactical turn-based JRPG in which the story plays out as a series of cutscenes and battles on floating arenas. Enough people like the look of it that it's just passed its $40,000 Kickstarter goal, and an Early Access version is due in March.

Put rogues behind bars and sail smaller ships in latest Sea of Thieves update

Rare's co-op pirate sim Sea of Thieves is slowly sailing towards release early next year, and the latest developer update video (above) shows some of the progress being made in the alpha version. The biggest change is the addition of smaller vessels: up to now you needed a full boat of buccaneers to get much done, but the new ships are designed for one or two sailors at a time.

Forge Your Legends brings a new tutorial, a Halloween-themed event, and—not least of all—the transition away from its current loot box-based microtransaction model.
